Teaching Healthcare Professionals to Provide Trauma-Informed & Trauma-Competent Care for Women
I’m Amy Hill Fife, a Board-Certified Women’s Health Physical Therapist (PWCS), AASECT Certified Sex Counselor, educator, and creator of the Pelvic & Sexual Health Trauma-Competent (PSHT®) Certification.
For more than 26 years, I’ve dedicated my career to helping healthcare professionals confidently care for women with sexual trauma, pelvic floor dysfunction, chronic pelvic pain, and sexual health concerns. My work bridges the gap between pelvic rehabilitation, trauma neuroscience, and sexual health, giving clinicians the knowledge, clinical reasoning, and practical skills they need to treat patients with complex trauma histories safely.
Most healthcare professionals receive little or no formal training in treating the intersection of trauma, pelvic health, and sexuality. That’s the gap I’ve devoted my career to closing.
My Mission
I believe every woman deserves access to healthcare professionals who understand how trauma affects the body, the nervous system, pelvic floor function, pain, and sexual health.
My mission is to advance the standard of care by equipping pelvic health, rehabilitation, and mental health professionals with evidence-informed, trauma-informed, and trauma-competent education they can immediately apply in clinical practice.
The PSHT® Certification
To meet this growing need, I created the Pelvic & Sexual Health Trauma-Competent (PSHT®) Certification—an interdisciplinary training program that integrates pelvic rehabilitation, sexual health, trauma neuroscience, and patient-centered care.
Through online education, mentorship, consulting, and continuing education, I help clinicians develop the confidence and competence to treat cases many were never taught to manage in graduate training.
